Target spacing and actual spacing are different results
On-center spacing describes the distance from the center of one regularly placed stud to the center of the next. The target is the spacing entered in the tool. The actual spacing is the equal interval that fits after the wall is divided into a whole number of spaces.

For the 18 ft 7 1/2 in example, the wall is 223.5 in long. Dividing by the 16 in target requires 14 whole spaces. A row of 14 spaces needs one more boundary member, producing 15 studs.
Whole spaces = wall length ÷ target spacing, rounded up
Stud count = whole spaces + 1
The tool then divides the measured wall across those whole spaces and displays the adjusted result as 15 15/16 in. Seeing both values helps you distinguish the entered target interval from the equalized layout returned for the full span.
Try a custom on-center spacing
The on-center input is editable. For example, entering an 18 ft wall with an 18 in target returns 13 studs. This makes it easy to check a regular layout using the spacing specified for the project rather than rebuilding the calculation manually.
Enter the spacing from the relevant drawing, assembly information, or project requirements.
