    How to read the chart

    1. Start at Row 1 in the bottom-right corner and work upward.
    2. For flat knitting, read odd rows right to left and even rows left to right.
    3. Each square is one stitch; outside numbers identify row and stitch positions.
    4. Numbers inside the squares count consecutive stitches of one color, restarting at each color change.

When reading this three-color knitting chart, check the small contrasting squares inside each diamond as well as its outer edges.
